The Guild Crest

The Guild of Air Pilots & Air Navigators

Chairman Captain David Harrison

The Committee encompasses all aspects of aviation safety; the operation of public transport and general aviation aircraft, the common use of airspace by private, public transport, aerial work and military aircraft as well as any other techical matters specifically referred to the Committee by the Court.  Its recommendations are directed to the Civil Aviation Authority, the Department for Transport, and increasingly to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).  The Committee is responsible for the preparation of the Guild's contribution to conferences and the House of Commons Select Committee on Transport.

It appoints sub-committees or working groups as necessary to deal with specific problems.

Through the Air Safety Trust the committee invites eminent lecturers both to address the Guild and to give presentations at the annual Cobham Lecture (in April) and the Sir Frederick Tymms Memorial Lecture (in September).
